Fans can and do ‘resuscitate’ their dead heroes, giving them an afterlife that is sometimes longer than the actual lives that their heroes lived. Memorial-making activities can be unifying, but also divisive and problematic as we all remember and commemorate in different ways. Using examples relating to those who died in the Munich Air Disaster - specifically my relation, 'Busby babe' Duncan Edwards - pilgrimages to graves and statues, online tributes and even paintballing, I shine a light on how such activities complement or clash with the ‘official’ memorial activities of a football club and/or family of the deceased. Just how powerful are fan resuscitators? I Gall cefnogwyr, a gwnân nhw, 'ddadebru' eu hwrwyr marw a rhoi bywyd tragwyddol iddynt sy'n gallu fod yn hirach nag y bywydau fu eu harwyr yn eu byw.
