Gŵyl Wal Goch (tr. ‘Festival of the Red Wall’) is the product of a firm belief on the part of its founders Tim Hartley and Russell Todd that sport, especially football, has immense power for bringing about positive change in society.

The festival is proudly internationalist in outlook and draws on football fan culture to develop and share ideas about how to use football as a force for social good in Wales and beyond.

The festival takes Welsh football culture to the world and brings the rich tapestry of football cultures from around the world to Wales. 

Gŵyl Wal Goch is a social enterprise (a ‘community interest company’ in the jargon). Any surplus it generates is ploughed back into social causes: the arts, community projects, mental health, supporting young talent, bursaries and so on.

Sefydlwyd Gŵyl Wal Goch gan Tim Hartley a Russell Todd sy’n credu bod gan chwaraeon, ac yn arbennig felly pêl-droed, grym arbennig all arwain at drawsnewid cymdeithasol positif.

Yn ryngwladol o ran ei golygon, mae’r ŵyl yn tynnu ar ddiwylliant cefnogwyr pêl-droed er mwyn rhannu a datblygu syniadau ynghylch sut mai defnyddio pêl-droed fel grym er lles cymdeithasol yng Nghymru a’r tu hwnt.

Mae’r ŵyl yn mynd â diwylliant pêl-droed Cymru i'r byd ac yn cyflwyno holl gyfoeth diwylliannau pêl-droed y byd i Gymru.

Menter gymdeithasol yw Gŵyl Wal Goch (‘cwmni er budd cymunedol’ yn ôl y jargon). Mae unrhyw elw y mae’n ei chreu yn mynd yn syth yn ôl at achosion cymdeithasol: y celfyddydau, cynlluniau cymunedol, iechyd meddwl, cefnogi talent ifanc, cefnogaeth ariannol ayb.

 Y mae gan y cefnogwyr, er mwyn y cefnogwyr.

Tim’s background is in communications and journalism and he has chaired and worked with a number of charities and social organisations. 

Cyfathrebiadau a newyddiaduraeth yw cefndir Tim ac mae wedi cadeirio a gweithio gyda nifer o elusennau a sefydliadau cymdeithasol. 

Russell’s background is in community development and he has founded numerous other social enterprises. 

Daw Russell o’r byd datblygu cymunedol ac mae wei sefydlu nifer o fentrau cymdeithasol eraill.
